People at all levels in AlMansoori Corporation are responsible for leading and engaging the workforce in meeting our HSEQ objectives and targets.

Management of risk is a continuous process and the cornerstone of all the HSEQ elements. We regularly identify the hazards and assess the risks associated with our activities. We take all the appropriate action to manage the risks and prevent or reduce the impact of potential accidents.

People's behavior is critical to HSEQ performance; therefore, our workforce are carefully selected and trained, and their skills and competencies regularly assessed.

All our activities performed to ensure safe, secure, healthy, high quality and environmentally sound performance.

Emergency management plans are maintained to cover all our operations. These plans will identify equipment, training and personnel necessary to protect the workforce, customers, public, environment and our reputation in the event of an accident.

Accidents will be reported, investigated and analyzed to prevent recurrence and improve our HSEQ performance. Our investigations will focus on root causes and/or system failures. Corrective actions and preventive measures will be utilized to reduce future injuries and losses.

We periodically assess the implementation of HSEQ IMS to assure our customers and ourselves that management processes are in place and working effectively. This will involve both internal self-assessments and appropriate external audits and inspections. We use this information to continuously improve our HSEQ performance.

AlMansoori Specialized Engineering Management Is Fully Committed to HSEQ and demonstrate it's commitment to the development and improvement of the HSEQ Integrated Management System by establishing the company's Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Policy and HSEQ Objectives and ensuring that they are deploying effectively at all functions and levels.

On January 2009 AlMansoori Specialized Engineering revised the HSEQ Policy Statement.

Personnel are encouraged to be individually responsible for identifying and eliminating Hazards, preventing injury to themselves and others, and report workplace hazards. Personnel are empowered to STOP any unsafe and unhealthy conditions at any workplace. One of the major concerns at AlMansoori is its employees health. With this in mind, Health Monitoring Management System (HMMS) is very well implemented. Through our HMMS, we send our employees for periodic medical examination depending on their category; once in 3 years for Category 1, every 2 years for Category 2, annually for Category 3 and Category 4 are suspended from job during treatment.

To ensure 50% or more of the employees are in Category 1, we campaign for Health Ownership, through healthy lifestyle. The chart below shows the different Categories.

CORPORATE HMMS

Category 2006 2007
Category1 50% 54%
Category2 47% 42%
Category3 3% 4%
Major Health Concerns 2006 2007
Cholestrol & Triglycerides 30% 15%
Cholestrol & Blood Sugar 14% 9%
Cholestrol & Excess Weight 12% 8%
Excess Weight 6% 5%
Blood Sugar 14% 7%

Health Campaign Program was in the form of lecture, information technology, site visit and publication:

Lectures done during safety meetings are the following:

  • Back Safety
  • Heat Stress
  • Cholesterol
  • Blood Pressure
  • Love Your Liver
  • Body Electricity and Electrocution
  • Stress Management
  • Computer Ergonomics

Health Awareness Program "Know Your Body & Healthy Lifestyle" is a lecture given to all employees. We give this continuously to new employees to enhance their knowledge on the body and its functions, thus they can take care of their health better.

Through Information Technology, we created health helpdesk and health library in our Lotus Notes. We also sent health news in the form of Health Advisory at least bi-monthly.

In our camps and marine vessels, we stopped serving soft drinks and fried foods; instead, we served fruits for dessert and the use only of olive oil.

This year's health publication is "Beat the Heat", a flier on how to combat heat stress.

With our clients, we are member of ADCO Health Management Committee. This provides as venue for ADCO and its contractors, share health programs for the betterment of the oil industry. We made strategic planning on how to deal with the most common health issues within ADCO and its contractors. This year during ZADCO's fifth Contractors HSE Workshop, we lecture on Heat Stress and Stress Management.

Weight Reduction Program is the health campaign, done in one of our divisions, the AlMansoori Production Services (MPS), from February-December 2007. The management encouraged personnel to lose weight by giving an incentive of Dhs. 50/per kilo, they lost. They took the BMI in February, repeated in December 2007 then compare the results.

Body Mass Index (BMI) is a number calculated from a person's weight and height. It provides a reliable indicator of body fatness for most people and used to screen weight categories that may lead to health problems.

The table below showed decreased in obesity from 27% to 15% and increased in normal BMI from 26% to 37%. It came out that personnel are healthier and fit through this program. This is shown by their absent days/sick leave, which reduced to 0.83% in 2007, compared to 1.41% in 2006.

SAFETY PERFORMANCE 2007

Employee's safety continues to be an area of concern and attention. AlMansoori's HSEQ Policy states that we need to conduct our oilfield activities in such a way as to avoid harm to our employees and all others who maybe affected directly or indirectly by our activities.

In 2007, AlMansoori achieved Zero Lost Time Accidents for the second year; our last lost time accident was in May 2005 with 0.6 per million man-hours frequency rate. Regular training plays a critical role in accident prevention and increases the awareness of the employees in the HSEQ Management System. In order to keep awareness of employees on safety aspects we are generating an HSEQ training plan for every employee and coordinating with GTSC to complete these plans successfully, including in house training for our employees such as Office Safety, Emergency Response Planning and Behavioral Safety Training.

In 2007, AlMansoori Specialized Engineering launched the Milestone Recognition Program (MRP). The objective of the program is to achieve Zero Lost Time Accidents at work and to bring HSE to the forefront of our employees minds. In essence, we achieve this by rewarding employees financially for executing their work in a safe manner as a team.

AlMansoori achieved a score of 98% in HSEQ Audit which has been conducted by TOTAL ABK, we received Safety Milestone Achievement Award from RASGAS for completing 10 years without Lost Time Incident; we also received the "Contractors HSE Performance Recognition Award" from ADCO; we achieved a score of 92% in the last HSEQ MS Audit conducted by ADMA-OPCO and we received a recognition and appreciation for participating in ADCO Road Safety Campaign 2007.

This year we continued implementing the requirements and standards of Occupational Safety & Health Management System OHSAS 18001 in all our operations.

Now, we encourage more of our employees to report HSEQ employee feedback (Dangerous Situation Feedback, Near Misses and Quality Suggestions) to ensure our employees participation in improving workplace safety conditions. The graph shows that there is an increase of 15% in the HSEQ employees feed back in 2007. Also, senior staffs conduct HSEQ meetings on a regular basis and explain to all staff the benefits of reporting. Newly hired employees must take an HSEQ orientation before starting the job to make sure that they are aware of all safety matters related to their jobs and they should also spend one full day in their division for familiarization with all safety matters & risks related to their job. Planned HSEQ internal audits and inspections were increased in all our working locations and facilities.

Vehicle accidents continue to be our main concern. The chart shows that we had 4 avoidable accidents in 2007 comparing to 5 in 2006. We are now focusing on increasing awareness of our employees on road safety; we hope that we will be able to successfully achieve Zero vehicle accidents

The table below shows the HSEQ performance of the company in 2007. The main purpose of this table is to highlight area of improvement. We believe this will help us to get our HSEQ performance to the highest possible level.

In 2007, AlMansoori achieved Zero Lost Time Accidents for the second year. Regular training plays a critical role in accident prevention and increases the awareness of the employees in the HSEQ Management System.

Protecting the environment is AlMansoori's major concern today with demands ranging from activities, emissions, to the every day uses of new products.

The environment has long been deeply rooted in the culture of our company. This now gives us the capacity to satisfy these expectations and conduct our operations with minimum impact on the environment.

Environment and technology management are giving us more effective control over the impact of our activities on freshwater, seawater and the ground and enabling us to continuously provide the latest environment technology to our customers to build environment protection into the life cycle of our service.

AlMansoori is committed to continually improve and protect the environment at our Musaffah Base, AlMansoori Camp at Buhasa and marine activities complying with UAE environmental laws and international accepted best practices and standards.

A Successful Surveillance audit was carried out by our external auditor (Vincotte) to maintain the ISO 1400:2004 Standards. The audits were carried out successfully without NCR. We are committed to continuously maintain our ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System Certification by full implementing our environmental control measures and by conducting planned HSEQ internal audits and inspections.

Several environmental studies have been conducted on marine test vessels and on paint shops in Mussafah Base. Environment Protection and Pollution Training was provided to our employees

In 2007, we again obtained the environmental permit from Abu Dhabi Municipality stating that we are conducting our business in an environmentally sound manner.

Quality Performance 2007

AlMansoori is a company constantly seeking to improve its quality standards in all areas of the company's operations to build good relations with customers, staff, suppliers and community.

Quality in products and services has already been identified as one of the important values in order to achieve our vision. This is demonstrated at every level within the company. Customer care campaign training program for employees is still working toward ensuring continuous success of our organization in meeting the customers needs and expectation by encouraging our customers to provide us with their feedback.

A good indication on the quality of service we provide at AlMansoori is the number of working man hours, and we are pleased to report that once again. The total hours worked by AlMansoori has surpassed the previous year. We worked 2,513,515 hours in 2007, compared to 1,721,746 hours in 2006. The 32% increase in hours worked is due to quality services we provide in our ever expanding operations throughout the world.

A major factor taken into consideration when measuring the quality of service we provide is customer feedback. Unfortunately this year, the customer feedback responses received fell far short of our target by 40%.

Another factor used to measure the quality of service we provide is Non Conformance Reports (NCR's). Although we worked almost a million more hours in 2007 than in 2006, we had only 7 Non Conformance Reports, a sharp decrease in comparison to 42 we had in 2006. All 7 NCR's have been properly actioned and all necessary preventative action taken to prevent any future reoccurrence.

Surveillance audit were carried out by out external auditor (Vincotte) to maintain the ISO 9001:2000 standards. The audits were carried out successfully without NCR.

  • Know Your Body & Healthy Lifestyle
  • Hearing Loss and its prevention
  • Weight Reduction Program
  • Heat Stress Prevention
  • Diabetes Mellitus
Health Publications

  • Healthy Lifestyle Booklet in the website
  • Eat Right to be Healthy
  • Poster and Flyer on Heart Attack

Program "Know Your Body & Healthy Lifestyle" is a lecture given to all employees. We give this continuously to new employees to enhance their knowledge on the body and its functions, thus they can take care of their health better. Health news in the form of Health Advisory is circulated thru e-mail at least bi-monthly.

In our camps and marine vessels, we continue not to serve soft drinks and fried foods; instead, we served fruits for dessert and the use only of olive oil.

Our campaign on Weight Reduction (BMI) was extended to all employees as shown below. Body Mass Index (BMI) is a number calculated from a person's weight and height. It provides a reliable indicator of body fatness for most people and used to screen weight categories that may lead to health problems.

ALMANSOORI - BMI 2008
  %
Normal 46.8
Excess Weight 38.9
Obese 14.26

At MPS, we followed up the BMI for 2008 as shown below.

BMI 2007 2008
Normal 37% 44.4%
Excess Weight 48% 44.4%
Obese 15% 11.1%

The significance of this study, absences/sick leave decreased from 0.83% (2007) to 0.46% (2008). Therefore, the higher the number of normal BMI a Division has, the lesser the sick leave/absences.

For our Health Objectives 2009:

  • To have 100% MSE employees in Category 1 & 2.
  • Continue our Weight Reduction Program, to reduce Obesity from 14.26% to 10%.
There are areas that also need improvement with the help of the different divisions:

  • Refrain from hiring Category 3.
  • HSEQ Coordinator more involved in Division's Health Activity/Program.
  • Managers reinforce Health Activity/Program to employees.
SAFETY PERFORMANCE 2008

Employee's safety continues to be an area of concern and attention. AlMansoori's HSEQ Policy states that we need to conduct our oilfield activities in such a way we avoid harm to our employees and all others who maybe affected directly or indirectly by our activities.

Unfortunately in 2008, AlMansoori failed to achieve Zero Lost Time accidents, after 1080 days without lost time accident we had 2 lost time accident with an accident frequency rate of 0.63.

Regular training plays a critical role in accident prevention and increases the awareness of the employees in the HSEQ Management System. In order to keep awareness of employees on safety aspects, we are generating an HSEQ training plan for every employee and coordinating with Training Centers to complete these plans successfully; including in house training for our employees such as Office safety, Emergency Response Planning and Behavioral Safety Training.

In 2008, AlMansoori Specialized Engineering continued implementing the Milestone Recognition Program (MRP). Progress of the program was presented to AlMansoori Employees and clients. The objective of the program is to achieve Zero Lost Time Accidents at work and to bring HSE to the forefront of our employees minds. In essence, we achieve this by rewarding employees financially for executing their work in a safe manner as a team.

Some of AlMansoori's achievement during the year 2008 was receiving a score of 94% in HSEQ Audit conducted by TOTAL ABK; a Safety Milestone Achievement Award from RASGAS for completing 11 years without Lost Time Incident was also received. AlMansoori also received recognition for Group Company / Contractor Partnership award from ADNOC HSE Award. Appreciation from ADMA-OPCO for No Lost Time Accident for 2 years of continuous operation was also received and a score of 94% in the last HSEQ MS Audit conducted by ADMA-OPCO.

This year we continued implementing the requirements and standards of Occupational Safety & Health Management System OHSAS 18001:1999, in all our operations. MSE Egypt and MSE Libya accrued the OHSAS 18001:11999 Certificate.

Now, we encourage more of our employees to report HSEQ employee feedback (Dangerous Situation Feedback, Near Misses and Quality Suggestions) to ensure our employee's participation in improving workplace safety conditions. The graph shows that there is an increase of 15% in the HSEQ employees feed back in 2008. Also senior staff conducts HSEQ meetings on regular basis and explain to all staff the benefits of reporting.

The chart shows that we had 7 avoidable accidents in 2008 comparing to 4 in 2007. We are now focusing on increasing awareness of our employees on road safety; we hope that we will be able to successfully achieve zero vehicle accidents. In order to achieve that, all AlMansoori Operational vehicles are fitted with Vehicle Monitoring devices.

The table below shows the HSEQ performance of the company in 2008. The main purpose of this table is to highlight area of improvement. We believe this will help us to get our HSEQ performance to the highest possible level.

After 3 years without lost time accident we had 2 lost time accidents in 2008. Accident investigations were conducted to know the route cause of the accident. Accident Flashes were issued; Findings and corrective actions were discussed with Management, employees and customers to ensure that such accidents do not happen again.

ENVIRONMENT PERFORMANCE 2008

Protecting the environment is AlMansoori's major concern today with demands ranging from activities, emissions, to the every day uses of new products.

The environment has long been deeply rooted in the culture of our company. This now gives us the capacity to satisfy these expectations and conduct our operations with minimum impact on the environment.

Environment and technology management are giving us more effective control over the impact of our activities on freshwater, seawater and the ground and enabling us to continuously provide the latest environment technology to our customers to build environment protection into the life cycle of our service.

AlMansoori is committed to continually improve and protect the environment at all our work sites and bases complying with UAE and International environmental laws and accepted best practices and standards.

A successful Surveillance audit was carried out by out external auditor (Vincotte) to maintain the ISO 14001:2004 standards. We are committed to continuously maintain our ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System certification by full implementing our environmental control measures and by conducting planned HSEQ internal audits and inspections.

MSE Egypt and MSE Libya were ISO 14001:2004 certified after a successful audit by auditors from Vincotte.

Several environmental studies have been conducted on marine test vessels and on paint shops in Mussafah Base. Environmental Protection and Pollution Training were provided to our employees

In 2008, we again obtained the environmental permit from Abu Dhabi Municipality stating that we are conducting our business in an environmentally sound manner.

QUALITY PERFORMANCE 2008

AlMansoori is a company constantly seeking to improve its quality standards in all areas of the company's operations to build good relations with customers, staff, suppliers and community.

Quality in products and services has already been identified as one of the important values in order to achieve our vision. This is demonstrated at every level within the company. Customer care campaign training program for employees is still working toward ensuring continuous success of our organization in meeting the customer's needs and expectation by encouraging our customers to provide us with their feedback.

A good indication on the quality of service we provide at AlMansoori is the number of working man hours, and we are pleased to report that once again, the total hours worked by AlMansoori has surpassed the previous year. We worked 3,152,370 hours in 2008, compared to 2,513,515 hours in 2007. The 21% increase in hours worked is due to quality services we provide in our ever expanding operations throughout the world.

A Major factor taken into consideration when measuring the quality of service we provide is customer feedback. This year we were able to achieve our target by encouraging customer to report their satisfaction level of our services.

Another factor used to measure the quality of service we provide is non conformance reports (NCR's). Although we worked almost a 600,000 more hours in 2008 than In 2007, we had only 11 Non Conformance reports comparing to 7 in 2007.

All NCR's have been properly actioned and all necessary preventative action taken to prevent any future reoccurrence.

Surveillance audit were carried out by out external auditor (Vincotte) to maintain the ISO 9001:2000 standards. The audits were carried out successfully without NCR. Also MSE Egypt and MSE Libya were ISO 9001 Certified by our external auditor Vincotte.
